April 25th Message: Points to Ponder

HOPE

Romans 5:1 – 5

Romans 15:1 – 13

What is the difference between faith and hope?

Faith is the channel by which we expect and receive, just like the woman who touched the hem of Jesus' clothes. Her faith made her well.

Matthew 9:20–22

Hebrews 11:1

· Faith is the instrumental quality of the believers.

· Hope is the inspirational quality of the believers.

· Love is the indispensable quality of the believers.

"Without faith there is no hope."

"There are no hopeless situations, only faithless people."

When we lose faith, we lose hope.

It is our Faith that gives us the light to keep our hope placed firmly in our source which is God.

Hope is tangible when placed in God. If hope is not in God, then it is simply a figment of our imagination.

Hope is something tangible, and it boosts our morale, our sense of balance and well-being.

Hope creates energy, enthusiasm, vitality, life, even vision.

"The confident anticipation of good things to come with the corresponding effort to reach out and attain them."

“Hope is a positive attitude, based on God’s love and ability, which causes a productive effort.”

Perseverance is not a passive attitude.

"Pressure produces a spirit of activity, which produces a strength of character, which is tried and tested. This proven character produces hope."

Verse 5: The hope which is carried on these dark streams of life will not disappoint us.

(Living Bible) “Then, when that happens, we are able to hold our heads high no matter what happens and to know that all is well. For we know how dearly God loves us, and we feel this warm love everywhere within us, because God has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love.”

Describe, for yourself, how perseverance enhances hope in your life.

Romans 15:13 “May the God of all hope fill you with all joy and peace.”
