June 13th Message: Point to Ponder

Biblical Principle: Refresh in Jesus

Poem: "Godly Wisdom For Our Decisions"

When we're facing a decision And we're feeling so unsure, We need to pray for godly guidance And the wisdom of the Lord.

We need to wait with confidence That God will show the way And open doors we must go through, Giving peace when we pray

Show us Your ways, O Lord, And where we need to walk Guide us to where You want us, Help us pray as we ought

Equip us with power and strength To tread upon new ground, To go where we've not been before Where your blessings shall abound

For we shall never know how much You long to bless our lives Unless we take that step of faith And follow the steps of Christ

To be where we can grow in You And become more mature in faith, To live in the wisdom that You've given, To be immersed in Your saving grace

To know Your will for our lives, We but only need to ask You long to show us what to do, All we need is obedient hearts.

Follow God’s Lead

Psalm 62:8 “Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge.”

“I like to think of following God as a great adventure. It’s never boring. Truly, it’s never predictable. And, it’s usually not easy.” Adrian Rogers once said, “You’ll have to make a decision at some point – to stay put or to risk it all, following Him!”

Matthew 4:19 – 20 Matthew 8:19 – 22 Matthew 16:24 Matthew 19: 27 – 30

Psalm 23

Vs 2 & 3: “He leads me beside quiet waters, He refreshes my soul.”

Following Jesus:

With all our heart: Luke 11:28; James 1:22 – 25

More important than sacrifices: 1 Samuel 15:22 – 23

Proof we love God: 2 John 6; 1 John 2:3 – 6

Philippians 4:19 “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.”

Why is it then, that so many satisfy their thirst for God and for righteousness with almost every other substitute? These sources will not satisfy our thirst. They will not give rest. They draw us away from God. There is no substitute for the real thing.

Jeremiah (2:13) said it bluntly: "My people...have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and have built for themselves broken cisterns that can't hold water!"

God will provide...

John 4:14 “But whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.“

John 4:10 “Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked Him and He would have given you living water.”

Matt. 5:6 "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled (satisfied)."

"If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink."

“He leads me beside quiet waters, He refreshes my soul.”
